Jeff Rense loves to link to sites that are anti Semitic, anti woman, and or racist. He loves that stuff. His newest darling is something called The Occidental Observer, which says, in its mission statement, that it's a site dealing with themes of white identity, which would "surely" be seen as wrong, psycho even, they say, but someone has to do it.

Two articles on the site that are linked to from Rense.com are about Jewish comedian Sandra Bernhard. They don't like her because of her attacks on Sarah Palin. Lots of stuff about "if Bernhard had said "black," or some other race, she wouldn't have gotten away it" kind of comments.

Well, the whole issue of Christians appropriating the OT aside and Messianic Jews, etc. aside, what clearly escapes the pundits at "The Occidental" is the whole concept of power: who has it, who's had it, who wants to keep it going, who appropriates whom . Jews are a minority in this country. They're a minority everywhere, except for Israel. There are far more Muslims in this country than there are Jews. To be fair, that doesn't include, presumably, the number of Jews who decide they're not going to identify themselves as Jews. The opposite side of the coin are those non-Jews who are Christians who like to play Jew. Anyway, it's like what comedian Chris Rock said in his latest comedy special. To paraphrase, the skinny chick doesn't get to make fun of the fat chick; the fat chick can make fun of the skinny chick all she wants.

Most Jews in this country are of European origin, whether Eastern or not. Bigots and misogynistic writers like the ones at The Occidental like it both ways: white people ie Americans, "real" Americans, don't ya know, are often refereed to as Europeans. (Unless you're French. We all know the French are elite and hate America, and so if you have French blood don't cop to it. Say you're English or something.) White Americans of Euro descent have a really bad rap, say these types. Forgetting that many Jews are also of European descent. Ah, but many are of Eastern European descent, which is awfully suspicious! Take me for example; I"m Russian Jew, Ukrainian Russian Jew. Well, until they've changed it, now I'm not Russian anymore. Tell that to my family! Eastern Europeans are pinko commies, and that's a lot worse than elite French people.

Fringe

Fringe, on the FOX (we say we're news but we lie) network, premired last night. Fringe is a sort of X Files (not as good, never as good, except maybe for Torchwood) and I enjoyed it. A bit predictable, but that's not always a bad thing; after all, it's not the fact you can predict what's coming, it's how it's done. They did a good job of bringing in a whole bunch of paranoid but that doesn't mean they're not watching you scenarios. Excellent!

In fact, one of my favorite lines from last night's show was "Excllent! Let's get some LSD." (Dr. Bishop.) I'm not sure if that's the exact quote but that's the idea.

The program did have one little twist I wasn't expecting, other than that, okay, so predictable, but as I said, no problem there.

I've always found it a strange sense of topsy turvy universe down the rabbit hole stuff that shows like X Files, Fringe, Prison Break, Millenium (a great show!) American Dad, and a host of others that deal with conspiracies, anti heroes, anti structure, and paranoia, are Fox Network programs. Fox, where news is only what they say it is, right wing clown shoes flap away, and lies are told with somber stone cold faces of truthiness, to paraphrase Stephen Colbert.

Pakistani Taliban: wear hijab, or be disfigured. I think many non-Muslims and or non-Middle Easterners are afraid to expose the violent, fundi, fanatical aspects of Islam for fear of being seen as racist, or politically incorrect. And maybe, a bit of queasiness about bringing up the subject at all. Many of those who see nothing wrong, racist, anti-Semitic or politically incorrect in criticizing Israel balk at questioning the violent and theocratic actions of that faction of Islam. Or any other group, Christian, what have you, that does evil things. (And no, I am NOT suggesting Israel is above criticism.) I am suggesting that, sometimes, those who harbor racist views towards Jews use the sometimes valid criticisms of Israel's actions as an excuse. But that's really an entirely different subject. The point is, Islamic fascism is scary and real, and it isn't racist to point that out.

While these things are often ignored, it's surreal to know that 26% of the U.S. thinks Obama is Muslim. Even though he isn't. And what if he were? There are more Muslims in the U.S. than Jews. It isn't illegal to be a Muslim. No, it's only fear and ignorance, along with bigotry - and not so veiled racism -- that makes some people believe that Obama is "Muslim" as if that's something wrong.

More scary news from DHS. That's Department of Homeland Security. According to this article from the Washington Times, the DHS wants every airline passenger to wear an "Electronic ID Bracelet." To be worn from the moment you have your ticket -- in fact, it will replace the boarding pass -- to the moment you disembark. But wait, there's more. The "bracelet" (just what I want to finish off my stunning traveling outfit) will also:

• contain personal information about the traveler

• be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage

• shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes ( Want some torture with your peanuts?, P. Jeffrey Black and Jeffrey Denning.)

However, the DHS responded and insisted this "bracelet" would only be used in a hijacking situation. Meaning, they wouldn't be activated. Moot point, mon amis.

England wants to get rid of trees; mow them down. That's a bit dramatic, but what they want to do is have a lock stop tree inspection for all "garden trees" and if your tree isn't up to standards, it's done for, as New safety regulations for trees could lead to expensive inspections tells us.

Expensive inspections are to be paid for by owners. One reason why this is so bleak, while seeming funny, like "killer trees on the loose!" it isn't. Those without the money to pay for tree inspections will be treeless. The have nots end up living in gloomy, nature less projects, while those who can, live with tidy trees on their bright streets. On the surface it's a safety issue, they tell us, underneath, is more of the arbitrary rules sprung upon citizens, just for its own sake.

But most Americans don't care, they don't see it, they mock and accuse people who rant about these things as being "paranoid" or an alarmist or a crank. As long as we have our TVs and Dollar Stores and McDonald's, as long as we're not homeless and maybe have a bit of health insurance, we think we're living the good life and all is well. After all, no one's hassling the likes of us. So what's there to worry about?

Here in Oregon, you’re as much a victim of this bigotry if you come from California. And ou better not say you’re from Southern California, because that will get you in some deep shit.

"Anti immigrant or anti trade sentiment" refers to policies that protect national or racial character.
Er, yes and the point is?

"Guns" refers to the fact these people must be rendered powerless.

Then he goes on about Hilary. Makow also informs us of the startling news that we can’t believe much, if anything, of what politicians say, because, well, they’re politicians. Dahlings! I’ve been saying that for years! Who the hell doesn’t know that?

While earlier here Makow has been stupid and paranoid, he now gets ugly:

Look at the choice the Illuminati have given Americans. A Black Communist; a crooked lesbian; and a fossil who represents a continuation of the disastrous policies of the Bush administration. Who represents the majority of good hardworking honest Americans? Who really represents change? No one.

The Illuminati is at the root of it all. Actually, in a very twisted sick way, Makow has a point. In the sense that the Illuminati, or Corporate Globalist Cabal, or Dr. Evils, or the paranormal Fortean Trickster, or maybe just good old fashioned aliens from outer space, are playing with our minds, our lives, our planet. But that’s a given and has been going on for thousands of years. But all that aside, Makow has no excuse, for he pins this vast, ancient phenomena on the select groups that scare him, or piss him off, or make him nervous. They’re excuses for his paranoia and unease, his personal self loathing (he himself is Jewish) and his misogyny.

As I always say whenever ranting about Makow, he’s not worth the time, but the fact that there are plenty of people who actually like this guy -- including Jeff Rense -- is pretty scary.

Wow, that’s good news! Whew. Now that Henry Makow has told us it’s okay to be a woman, I feel so much safer and secure. I feel . . . womanly.

For those who don’t know Makow, here’s a brief overview: he’s Jewish, but a self-hating Jew who’s now a Christian, he believes that all the world’s ills, evil plots, horrors in history, and the Very Bad Really Evil Stuff like feminism and culture, were started by Jews, and run by Jews. Women are now self-hating mixed-up lost souls, and if we’d only give it all up and over to men, things would be much better all around. That, and get rid of the Jews. Makow created the board game Scruples, has a Ph.D believe it or not, and has his own website,Save the Males. Catchy, isn’t it? Jeff Rense loves him, featuring Makow as a regular contributor. Henry Makow is stuck in the 1950s in the worst way. He’s so whacked it’s hard to take what he says seriously, and I don’t,but what does worry me is that there are people who do take him seriously.

Okay, so it’s okay to be a woman. We need to be reassured of this, because today, we’re all horribly messed up, due to feminism and lesbianism (which, in Makow’s mind, are the same thing) and that's “poison for women.” Indeed, feminism has:

destroyed the things you most want and need, namely love, courtship and marriage.

All of Makow’s pieces are the same; they’re just arranged differently. It doesn't matter if the main topic is feminism, the Illuminati, pinko (Jew) commies, or what, he manages to tie all the other stuff in with whatever he’s writing about. It doesn’t take him long to get to his favorite subject: the evil Jew cabal that runs everything. What started feminism were the Jews, which:

Good great screaming goddess, “just as flowers blossom now, you are at the height of your fertility . . .” why does that remind me of a Kotex ad? One from the ‘50s, that is.
Makow closes with another warning about the evils of feminism, which is “social engineering.” Indeed, he wrote something called “Cruel Hoax: Feminism and the New World Order” which I shudder to dwell to long upon.

"Not only is keeping your looks in tip top shape a priority girls, keeping your home sparkling and clean is too! And remember, it's okay!"

As a side note, Makow e-mailed a couple of years back (yes, I’d been ranting on him that long now) and he was quite snippy, I must say! I have no idea why.

80 Year Old Deacon Arrested for Anti-War Activism

80 year old man, a deacon in a church, arrested in New York at a shopping mall for wearing an anti-war T shirt and handing out anti-war literature. Many people at the mall complained about the t shirt for "graphic anti-war images" which is described in the article as having:

had the death tolls of American military personnel and Iraqis - 4,000 and 1 million - and the words "Dead" and "Enough." The shirt also has three blotches resembling blood splatters.

Doesn't sound graphic to me. Dead maimed bodies, that's graphic.

This is one thing out of many things that I find depressing and frustrating when it comes to war; all those people who support it, who run around with stickers and Support Our Troops bumper stickers, yet can't deal with its reality. War is hell, war sucks, war kills and maims and ruins lives, war destroys economies, cultures and the environment -- you better know what you're supporting. If you're offended by the death counts of the very thing you're supporting, you're a hypocrite, at best.

I remember a national poll that came out a few years ago about what employers and co-workers dislike most in a fellow employee. Chronic lateness? Nope. Taking credit for other’s work, or slacking off? Nope. Top of the list was: a good vocabulary.

Today, someone I hadn't seen for awhile, though we'd been emailing, asked me how I was, I said fine. She said something along the lines of "Well, you were sick . . ." and I said, "Not so much sick, sick, but this MRSA infection has been bugging me off and on. . . " she backs away from me! I said "It's not contagious," she said "Oh no, it is," and told me a story about her mother having it, in the hospital, and how she had to be isolated.

Well, that made me feel better!

MRSA and Morgellons: Jangled Messages

I don’t mean to be paranoid, but it seems with some things I can’t help myself. I believe “they” are watching us, whoever “they” are, that “they” are intentionally poisoning us with Splenda, Aspartame,corn syrup, sodium, larger food portions, cloned meats and genetically modified foods. Oh yeah, and chemtrails.

Still, I don’t mean to get all hyper paranoid over this MRSA thing, yet there are things afoot that nag at me. (MRSA is a staph infection that is super-resistant to antibiotics.) On one hand, MRSA seems to be poohed poohed; the school district I work for has, as its headline on its website, an article titled “Much Ado About MRSA” which implies that MRSA is no big deal. And in my case, it most probably isn’t. But then I read that other school districts have closed down during MRSA outbreaks, (including here in Oregon, where I live) and we can always count on Jeff Rense, of Rense.com, for good old yellow journalism, with his headlines screaming about not only MRSA but Morgellons, Bird Flu, and other ills -- it’s easy to get nervous about things.

An internet search brought up items about a MRSA epidemic in Oregon, which described perfectly what I have/had. Sorry about the grossness element, but here goes: painful leaking, draining, and crusting ear infections, complete with face swelling and loss of hearing. Yet it took from last spring until a few weeks ago for the ER people, the nurse practitioners at the school district, and an ENT specialist that I went to twice, to figure out that what I’ve been experiencing (all of the above) was this form of MRSA.

Last night, watching one of my favorite television shows, Numb3rs,there was a reference to MRSA. The suspect they were looking for had a MRSA STD (socially transmitted disease, in this case, gonorrhea.) One line in the show was something like “There’s a strain of antibiotics they can give you that can really knock it out, but doctors don’t want to give it to people.” I know, it’s just a TV show, but the undercurrent of “this is some serious crap” versus “it’s nothing, really” is something I can’t help but be aware of. There seems to be two concurrent, opposing memes about MRSA: one from official channels, which is: wash your hands, clean surfaces, don’t share stuff, don’t worry, don’t panic, and my favorite, which I was recently told by a medical person “We all have MRSA.” Then there’s the other view: it’s hard if not impossible to get rid of, inform your supervisor or health department if you have it, school districts might close down, avoid contact with others, take care of your immune system, oh, and the bit about deaths from MRSA . . .

Another strange disease that’s been around for a couple of years now -- Morgellons -- had me thinking about these oppositional views as well. (Morgellons is a disease that causes severe itching, and fibers are excreted from the body.) For a long time, it wasn’t getting any mainstream attention. But now Morgellons is beginning to enter the mainstream news media. The CDC (Center for Disease Control) is paying for a study of Morgellons in Northern California at Kaiser Permanante Hospital. The other day this item from the Los Angeles Times appeared in our local paper, as it did in many papers across the United States:

Morgellons study launched in California: Sufferers, who feel crawling sensations and see fibers coming out of their skin, hope the research legitimizes the illness. ~ By Jia-Rui Chong, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer January 19, 2008

The opening paragraph doesn’t waste time in planting that seed of doubt:

After years of patients' complaints, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has launched a study into a bizarre -- and possibly delusional -- condition known as Morgellons, in which sufferers typically feel crawling sensations and observe fibers coming out of their skin.

“Possibly delusional.” Why do “they” believe it’s necessary to insert this thought? If others witness, or discover through medical tests and observations, the fibers, it’s hardly “delusional.” It either is or it isn’t. And for a corporate entity like Kaiser Permanante to take part in a study like this, there has to be something in it for them.

The article goes on to quote the CDC, who are concerned, and want to help both doctors and patients:

"We are really at the beginning, I think, of a learning curve about what this condition is and all of its potential manifestations," said Dr. Michele Pearson, a CDC physician who is heading up the study. "Those who suffer from this condition, as well as the family members and physicians who provide care to them, have questions, and we want to help them find meaningful answers."

It’s the jangled relationship between these things: MRSA as being nothing more than “much ado,” Morgellons as being “possibly delusional” with the other side; for example, closing down school districts or starting studies.

I must be missing something. Here’s another example of that jangled disconnect between acknowledging something weird is going on, alongside the message that it isn’t any big deal:

Dr. Mark Horowitz, a Torrance dermatologist who has seen hundreds complaining of Morgellons, said he hoped the CDC study would settle the uncertainty about the condition: "I believe it's a real entity [but] I'll be very surprised if they find anything more than a psychiatric disease."

If it’s a “real entity” then why hold the opinion nothing concrete will be found, and that Morgellons will turn out to be a “psychiatric disease?”

Will they soon announce Morgellons is only a psychiatric disease? By doing this, there’s a false sense of security presented to society. “see, we looked at the disease, found there isn't anything communicable or contagious, or that it’s caused by “them” (chemtrails, chemicals in food, environmental factors, or watching too much American Idol) it’s all in your head.” We can all go back to our business, and feel a brief moment of sympathy for those who are suffering from the “psychiatric” disorder.

The same message is broadcast with MRSA. Just wash your hands more often, and you’ll be fine. I’ve tripled my hand washing and hand sanitizing, and wipe down tables before and after every time I sit down with students. I was doing all this anyway -- it’s a given if you work in a school -- but apparently I wasn’t doing this enough. One site on MRSA suggested that “poor hygiene” was a cause. Well, excuse me, but my hygiene is quite excellent, thank you very much. I’ve done so much hand washing, and used so much hand sanitizer, and been using the spray so much, that my hands have shriveled up like pale raisins. Now I have to lather on loads of hand lotion to combat the dryness.

Anyway, the point of all this ranting is the suspicion I have about what’s really going, compared with what “they” are telling us. It doesn’t make sense. There seems to be a purposeful attempt to lull us into accepting these things as normal and usual, as non-issues, or even as “delusions.” I apologize for the paranoid doom and gloom attitude, but I can’t shake the feeling “they” know a lot more than they’re telling us. The “don’t worry,” attitude, the assurances of calm, the concerned inquiries (as at Kaiser Permanante) are cover-ups and disinformation for something more serious.

Meanwhile, sales of those cute little hand sanitizer bottles, soap and hand lotions have increased dramatically, judging from my stash at work.

More Spy in the Sky Stuff

Remember the dragonflies that were not innocent pretty insects flitting about, but spy cameras? So we have that to look out for.

Then of course there’s the upcoming television exchange. Not “exchange,” exactly, but by, I think, the end of 2008, anyone with an older set (like ours; they’re all about ten years old or older) won’t be able to use them anymore. Why? I don’t know, do I look like Madame Currie? My understanding is that whatever's in the TV sets now to enable them to get satellite, that technology won’t mesh with other TV type technology. So we all have to get new sets in order to watch anything on them. And by the way, these new sets come with itty bitty cameras and microphones, so that Big Brother can listen in and watch us anytime they want to. Including when the set is turned off.

Where’s my source, you may ask? Hell, I don’t know. But I’ve come across this many times, you can too if you look it up.

So, we not only have spies in the home, we have the spies in the sky. This article: Spy planes to recharge by clinging to power lines, warns us about “tiny spy planes” and where they might be getting their power:

The next time you see something flapping in the breeze on an overhead power line, squint a little harder. It may not be a plastic bag or the remnants of a party balloon, but a tiny spy plane stealing power from the line to recharge its batteries.

The idea comes from the US Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Dayton, Ohio, US, which wants to operate extended surveillance missions using remote-controlled planes with a wingspan of about a metre, but has been struggling to find a way to refuel to extend the plane's limited flight duration.

In addition, so as not to arouse suspicion, AFRL says the spy plane will need to collapse its wings and hang limply on the cable like a piece of wind-blown detritus. Much of the "morphing" technology to perform this has already been developed by DARPA, the Pentagon's research division. Technologies developed in that program include carbon composite "sliding skins", which allow fuselages to change shape, and telescopic wings that allow lift to be boosted in seconds by boosting a wing's surface area.

Black Friday

I know I'm not the first person to point out the obvious here . . .

"Black" Friday, where the obsessed wait in long lines, camping out, even, for days, just so save a few dollars on something they don't even need.

In my town, it's been pretty cold past few nights, getting down to around 25. (Hey, that's cold; for a West Coast gal.) We also have, like most cities, a large homeless population. The irony and juxtaposition of those who stay out in the freezing cold nights, with the money to spend, on things they very likely could do without, with those who don't have the choice but are forced to stay outside, with no money, and no need for those things because, where and how? is obvious. In some countries people camp out in long cold lines for things like food, or toliet paper, here, we camp out so we can buy a big screen TV for cheap.

I am very fortunate; even in this old crappy dumpy house we live in, at least it's a house, and at least we both have jobs. And sure, there are some toys I'd like to have, like a video camera, or one of those turn table things that you can record your albums onto CDs. . . but I don't need them.

Interesting article from the blog Looking Into Dark Places on those cool looking mad genius light bulbs. They’re bad. Seems they interfere with brain waves, radio waves, all kinds of waves:

Alan posits that mini fluorescents are dangerous to human beings and are also designed to interfere with long wave radio. The electromagnetic interference harmfully affects our brain stem and jams long (and some medium) wave broadcasts.
In the event that all light bulbs are replaced with the new energy saving light bulbs (called globes in Australia) all households will be prevented fom receiving distance long wave broadcasts.

I have noticed the most bizarre things happening with our TV sets lately since we replaced our old bulbs with these. Coincidence or something more sinister?

I might as well have been talking about flying saucers, from the look of dazed unawareness on their faces.

For the future: your is possessive, you're is used like this: You are ignorant of the proper uses of your and you're.

While I'm on this rant, stop using like. I have to stop using like, and I'm 53 goddamn years old. Bad habits are easy to pick up and harder to break. I realize this is a pointless plea since humans in this culture have been abusing the language for a long time now. But please, try. You didn't "go to the store, and I was like, amazed because like, they had all these great sales that were, like, really awesome!" Review of Review of Makow's Cruel Hoax

See, I’ve been telling you all; Makow is not the only one who’s nuts; he has his fans. Just read the comments on his website. More bizarre, is that he has female fans as well as male fans.

Gregory M. Zeigler likes Makow so much he reviewed Makow’s book Cruel Hoax. He concurs with Makow’s belief that the “so-called” feminist movement had a specific and evil agenda:

First, contrary to its professed nature, the so-called feminist movement is anything but a grassroots, liberal, spontaneous Zeitgeist. Quite to the contrary, Makow traces its origins to a long-term plan by very elite banking interests to destroy the family as part of a grand goal of remaking a world social environment more conducive to absolute, despotic control. Second, Makow arrays a battery of facts to show that the so-called feminist movement is to the disadvantage of men, women, and children... but above all to the detriment of women, thus making it the Cruel Hoax.

Makow’s book is arranged in “chunks” easy to read, with sections such as: Feminism, Communism, and the NWO. (I love that juxtaposition) and How Heterosexuality Works. Hmm, that last one sounds intriguing, maybe I’ve been doing it wrong all this time.

Zeigler buys into Makow’s world view, agreeing with Makow that “men want power, women want love and security.” Men can’t function (ahem) if women get all uppity and stuff. Which then means men can’t contribute to family or society, and the world goes to hell in a handcart.

Makow, according to Zeigler, doesn't “have sympathy for the promotion of homosexuality” and yet, (allegedly) he has homosexual friends. Uh huh.

Ziegler addresses the issue of Makow’s anti-Semitism. Er, alleged anti-Semitism:

Makow has come under attack on the internet as an anti-semite or self-hating Jew. These attacks have been matched by attacks from demonstrably anti-semitic websites vilifying Makow as a sly defender of Jews for his constant reference to Illuminati rather than Jews as the architects of modern feminism and communism. Attacked from both sides, Makow has tried to assign blame where appropriate, but to refrain from casting aspersions on innocent people of all persuasions.

Whatever dahling. Ziegler insists Makow is a “true Torah Jew,” -- fergit about it.

Makow is bitterly opposed to the worship of the sex-goddess Astarte, or Ishtar. His God, to whom he freely refers, is a loving patriarchal God,

Mango, one of my cats. I love this guy. He is one smart funny quirky little cat dude.
I named him Mango because of his personality, after the character Mango from SNL. That character was very much a drama queen, hot one minute, cold the next. Mango the cat came to us from a few houses down; the bastards just upped and moved and left him behind. One of our cats brought him home. That was three years ago and now Mango is just such a joy. Five cats, way too many, and I won't do it again, but I'm glad we took him in and kept him, even though it meant being officially crowned "the crazy cat lady down the street."
